ATV and Motocross Race Recap

Saturday during the Lenoir County Fair was a busy day for the staff and crew here at Ironclad Motorsports.  After the threat of a total washout on Friday evening, the ATV racing action was postponed until bright and early Saturday morning.  This was an inconvenience to both riders unprepared to stay the night and to Ironclad's staff and track personnel's plan for Saturday.  But, a tough decision had to be made, and it was executed using all the resources available to the staff.  On the plus side, the riders were able to squeeze in some free practice time on Friday night.

Saturday morning came quick and early.  ATV racing was underway by 9am and wrapped up around 12:30pm.  During most of this time, registration was taking place over at the motocross track for riders arriving in time to practice.

Motocross practice started well before lunch while the ATV action was still wrapping up.  Motocross riders were able to cash in on double-practice in order to allow the ATV racing to finish before the motocross racing started.  Besides, most of the volunteers utilized during the motocross race were busy over at the ATV track!

And finally, around 12:45pm, the motocross racing had begun!  There were many familiar faces at the track, along with a few new riders.  It was great to see more of the smaller riders and the 50cc class.  They are always a joy to watch.

Another familiar rider in amateur motocross was Cooper Webb on the number 75 Honda.  What a joy it is to see a real pro in the sport ride at the Ironclad.

What a great (and busy) weekend of racing at Ironclad Motorsports.  Thanks to all that came out and participated as riders, spectators, and volunteers.  A special thanks to the Ironclad volunteers that sacrifice their time (and sometimes money) to build, maintain, and repair the tracks and facility here at Ironclad Motorsports.  It is amazing what has been done in the past two years by a 100% volunteer staff.

Thanks to all!
